Chippie comes to the aid of CFBC Students
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts—UTS-Chippie announced this week that on Thursday February 21 it has made a sizable financial contribution to four ASGS Students from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College who are part of a group of 35 students set to travel to Jamaica to undertake an educational tour between March 18 and 27.
Chippie Sales, Service and Marketing representative Alfred Harley stated in a press release, “We at Chippie believe firmly that a good solid education should be available and affordable to every child. As such we were happy to do what we felt was necessary as good corporate citizens, to assist in getting these students to and from Jamaica.”
Harley said, “With this gesture from Chippie, I hope it encourages other businesses to follow suit and contribute to this worthy cause.”
Thirty Five (35) students from the college will undertake the journey as part of a preparation for the 2008 CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination). The students are part of the History Heritage Club of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College which is being supervised by Lecture at the College Miss. Sheila Morris. Morris said, “It is our belief that this tour will provide the students with firsthand, in-depth knowledge and information which cannot be gained through published materials.”
Harley said he hopes that the students take full advantage of the opportunity to benefit from the experience. He said that the company, Chippie had started to show serious growth over the past few months and as such it was a welcomed pleasure to be able to give something back to the community.
