    – As the Republic of Dominica celebrates its 164th Anniversary of Independence, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas says that Spanish-speaking Caribbean nation’s National Liberation Day “is testimony to the resilience of the Dominican people.”

“During this period of celebration let the work of La Trinitaria and all its members, which led the February 27, 1844 Declaration of Independence be remembered and they be hailed for their commitment to the cause of a free and independent Dominican Republic,” said Prime Minister Douglas in a congratulatory message to the President His Excellency  Leonel Fernandez-Reyna.

Dr. Douglas wish that the Dominican Republic and its strong citizens at this juncture in that country’s development, “continue to find the faith and resilience to build an even better country.”
