~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - SCORES of children of the Sandy Point Primary School scattered in fear on Tuesday afternoon when sounds similar to those of exploding fire-crackers were heard on the school’s premises.
SKNVibes understands that on the said afternoon the children and teachers were preparing the premises for a meeting, which was to be held there later that day, when it was realised that electrical wires leading from two utility poles to the school were on fire.
A source close to SKNVibes explained because of the fire, that one of the wires was disconnected and landed on the roof of the school and, at another point, in the schoolyard.
According to reports, the incident resulted in no one being injured but the meeting was postponed.
SKNVibes contacted a member of the Federation’s Fire and Rescue Services who explained that because the incident was not of a serious nature, there was no need for the Fire and Rescue Services to respond.
