    Trade Power Dialogue

~~Adz:Right~~ “The Dollars & Sense of Current Trade Negotiations is the theme of a Trade Power Dialogue to be convened at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Ocean Terrace Inn.  A spokesperson for the St. Kitts-Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce stated that the two-hour trade discussion is being presented by the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (CRNM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Consumer Affairs, and the Chamber.

The Chamber spokesperson indicated that the Trade Power Dialogue is intended to achieve the following objectives:

    • To assess the practical impact of current trade policy on commercial activity in St.  Kitts and Nevis
    • To present to public and private sector stakeholders the most accurate trade policy information directly from the region’s trade negotiators.
    • To produce industry-specific recommendations from the stakeholders that will inform future trade negotiations being conducted by the CRNM on the region’s behalf.

It is also expected that the Trade Power Dialogue will serve as a platform for select companies to share their experiences in penetrating overseas markets and securing their market share in St. Kitts & Nevis.  Among the persons who should be addressing the private and public sector stakeholders at the Trade Power Dialogue are Minister of Industry, Commerce & International Trade, Hon Dr Timothy Harris; Chamber President, Mr Mark Wilkin; and Private Sector Liaison with the CRNM, Dr Lincoln Price of Jamaica.
