Six arrested over weekend

~~Adz:Right~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE recent arrest of a Canadian national serves as a reminder that the Laws of St. Christopher and Nevis strictly prohibit persons from driving while intoxicated.
While circumstances behind the incident have not been divulged, the police have informed that Kumar Nadesapillar was on Friday, March 14, 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of “driving under the influence of alcohol”.
Nadesapillar is expected to appear before the court shortly when he will answer to the charge.
Meanwhile, a number of persons who were arrested on the same and subsequent days are also expected to appear before the court to answer to their charges.
Two females, Shorna Samuel of Ogee’s, St. Peters and Canetta Pascal of Shear Lane, were arrested and charged for “disorderly conduct by fighting”.
Vikesha Garvey of Sandy Point and Makita McCall of Ponds Pasture were arrested on Sunday and jointly charged with the offences of “battery and malicious damage”, offences which the police state were committed on Tuesday, February 14, 2008.
On sister island Nevis, “driving when not covered by insurance” was the charge brought against Jessup Village resident Deveron Flemming. He was arrested on Sunday, March 16, 2008.
