                                      40 Graduate from "Power to Speak"  Workshop

    Basseterre, St.Kitts :-
      40 young persons ranging from ages 18-30 graduated from the Young PAMITES (Youth for Change) organized “Power 2 Speak” Public Speaking and Interview Skills workshop held at the PAM Headquarters.
     
    The 3-week workshop began on March 5, 2008 and after almost 10 hours and 3 sessions the workshop culminated on Thursday, March 20, 2008 with the presentation of certificates in a brief and informal but significant ceremony.
     
    The final session and the ensuing certificate ceremony saw the 40 participants putting their newly acquired skills to work as they each presented a 2 minute long speech which were all evaluated by course facilitator Mr. Selwyn (Rusty) Liburd.
     
    The final session and award ceremony was attended by specially invited guests who all viewed and gave good moral support to the participants and their presentations.

    refreshing mechanics learnt before and introducing me to some that were very new to me,” said course participant Addison Harvey.
     
    Certificates were handed out by Mr. Eugene Hamilton and Mr. Juni Hodge.  Mr. Hamilton is an advisor to the group as well as the General Manager of British American Insurance and the Deputy Political leader of the People’s Action Movement.

    Hamilton, Bernard Welsh and Wallis Wilkin make up the advisory board of the Youth for Change Group.
     
    It was a huge success and the response was overwhelming,” said Youth for Change, Young PAMITES President Ms. Kanje Rawlins.
     
    “We were pleased with the workshop and particularly the participants and the facilitator who did a tremendous job,” Rawlins continued.
     
    Rawlins indicated that plans have already been put in motion to organize a similar workshop in the very near future.
     
    The workshop drew a cross section of young people included CFB college  students, teachers, civil servants , CFB college and other college graduates and professionals in various fields including marketing, public relations, financing, tourism and more.
     
    The group is expected to organize similar workshops in the future where topics such as Human Sexuality, Savings, Investment and Money Management, Caribbean Politics and Entrepreneurship
