    ~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WHILE the extended weekend proved relatively quiet, a number of individuals were arrested and charged as they were believed to have been engaged in activities outside the ambit of the law.
     
    Lower Farms Estate, Nevis resident Esmerelda Dick was arrested and charged on Saturday, March 22 for “inflicting bodily harm”. The offence reportedly occurred on December 16, 2005.
     
    Kimo Flemming of Trafalgar Village was arrested and Sunday and charged with a November 5, 2007 offence of “robbery” while Tafari Vaughn Tyson of Bath Village Nevis was arrested and charged with “larceny”, allegedly committed on March 19, 2008.
     
    Cotton Ground residents Stephen Hanley and Veliko Romney were arrested on Thursday, March 20 and charged with “carrying abroad an offensive weapon”.
     
    Jamaican national Damion Andre Spence was arrested and charged on Friday with the offence of “obtaining credit by false pretence” which was allegedly committed on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
     
    “Possession of cannabis” was the charge preferred against Kesean James of Ottley’s Village.  He was officially charged on Monday, March 24.
     
    While these persons are slated to appear before the court shortly, one man was convicted and committed to serve a jail sentence.
     
    Joseph ‘Limes’ Hanley, who made an appearance before the District “A” Magistrate’s Court on charges of “making use of insulting language”, “making use of indecent language” and “making use of abusive language”, was convicted on all of the October 4, 2007 counts. He was sentenced to one month on each count but the sentences are to run concurrently. 
     
    A Dominican Republic native, Arismendi Rivera, who currently resides in Thompson Street, Mc Knight, made an appearance before the District “C” Magistrate’s Court and was convicted of “battery” and “threatening language”; offences which were committed on November 19, 2007.
