BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - OFFICERS of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have expressed deep sadness at the passing of their colleague 492 Woman Police Constable (WPC) Dora Flemming.

Flemming was discovered dead in her Lodge Village home on Saturday morning, reportedly in the bed to which she retired the night before.

The officer reportedly suffered from a heart condition and it is believed that that may have contributed to her death.

Head of the Public Relations Office in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Inspector Cromwell Henry told SKNVibes that he and other members of the Force are distraught over the lost. He also said Flemming was “a hard worker and always rose to the occasion when the situation demanded. She never used her illness as an excuse to get away from doing work”.

“The High Command of the Police Force extends deepest sympathy to the family of WPC Flemming,” a police press release states.

Henry said plans are being made for the burial of the 37-year-old officer and “a military funeral will be accorded”. ~~Adz:Right~~

Police suspect no foul play in Flemming’s death and reported that an autopsy would be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Flemming served as a member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force since 1996 when she was attached to the Coast Guard, which was then a part of the said institution. She later worked at the Cayon Police Station and, up until her death, performed duties at the Immigration Department.

As early as a few hours after Flemming’s demise, her comrades-in-arms wore black ribbons as a symbol of mourning.
