    Police uproot drugs in Nevis!!
    Three charged with drug possession…

    ~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN its continued quest to stomp out the Federation’s drug problem, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were successful in uprooting a number of marijuana plants and a number of individuals have been arrested and charged for drug-related offences.
     
    As a result of operations conducted in Nevis, the premises of Marvin Henry Williams of Old Hospital Road and Marilyn Echabarria of Craddock Road were searched “or controlled drugs, arms and ammunition and a quantity of crack cocaine and cannabis were discovered.
     
    The items were taken into custody along with the individuals and they were both charged with one count each of “possession of cocaine”, “possession of cocaine with intent to supply”, “possession of marijuana” and “possession of marijuana with intent to supply”.
     
    A search warrant was also executed at the home of Jashaun Mills of Craddock Road on March 30, 2008 and a quantity of cannabis was discovered. Mills, according to a police report, was arrested and would be charged with “possession of drugs”.
     
    On sister island St. Kitts, operations were conducted in River Ghaut and St. Mary’s Terrace located at Cayon on March 28, 2008 police reported that “30 marijuana plants were discovered growing in the River Ghaut area” and “204 marijuana plants growing in the St. Mary’s Terrace area” were uprooted and taken into custody.
     
    “The plants ranged in height from seedlings to five feet. No one was held accountable for the find,” police informed.
     
    Meanwhile, seven individuals were stopped and searched on Monday during routine operations in the twin-island Federation and according to police report, “Nothing illegal was found on these persons but a quantity of marijuana was found on the ground close by. The drugs were taken into police custody but no one was held accountable for the find.”
