Acclaimed journalists photograph Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino
Frigate Bay, St. Kitts (April 1, 2008) – Christian and Regula Heeb, two internationally acclaimed photojournalists, will arrive in St. Kitts tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2, to photograph Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino, a family-run business formerly known as Jack Tar Village for over 20 years.
It is the only hotel in St. Kitts that the husband and wife will photograph on assignment for two travel publications: an illustrated book titled Time for the Caribbean and the magazine Abenteuer & Reisen. (To learn about the Heebs, log on to www.heebphoto.com.)
Abenteuer & Reisen will run a 10 to12-page special on “Caribbean Great Hotels,” one of which will be Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino, the lush 18-acre property deemed “an excellent reflection of St. Kitts’ culture.”
Gerhard Grubbe, Managing Director of C.J. Bucher Verlag Publishing, the publisher of Time for the Caribbean, wrote in the photojournalists’ assignment letter that, “The book will provide up-to-date pictures of its subjects with outstanding photographs and comprehensive texts on the highest level. They aim to contribute to the understanding of the different islands and regions and take into account all important touristic aspects.” ~~Adz:Right~~
Grubbe added that Time for the Caribbean will be published in German and English, and distributed in Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Switzerland, and the United States.
Since 1956, Bucher Publishing has published more than 1,000 volumes on topics such as art, cultural history, photography, and travel.
The magazine Caribbean Travel & Life will also feature Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino in an article for its May issue titled “Low Season Deals.” Local photographer Garth Archibald shot the pictures of Royal St. Kitts that are to accompany the story.
