Cabinet approves Defence Force and Police regulations
~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 2, 2008 (CUOPM) – Regulations governing the Royal St. Christopher ad Nevis Police Force and St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force have been approved by the Federal Cabinet.
Minister of State with responsibility for Information, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty said the Cabinet on Monday approved the new police regulations with minor amendments.
“The regulations shall come into force shortly and have been extensively consulted upon with the Police Welfare Association, the Department of Labour Department and other experts,” he said.
Minister Carty also disclosed that the Pensions and Gratuities Regulations for the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force have also been approved by the Cabinet, having had the input of the Defence Force.
The Police Regulations and the Defence Force Regulations are expected to be tabled at the next sitting of the National Assembly.
