BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THERE is never a dull moment in St. Kitts. From a blissful weekend to yet another exciting one, partygoers are in for a number of treats, starting today (Nov. 4).
Friday (Nov. 4)
Ziggy’s Bar/Frigate Bay Beach Strip
A mixture of Reggae, R&B and Dancehall music by DJ Gallis will surely end your week right from 9:00 p.m. until you call it ‘a day’, or you can bar-hop with locals and visitors all congregate in the name of a good lime.
Potential Bar and Restaurant
Located in the heart of Basseterre, DJ Yardy will rock the venue by kicking off the weekend lime with a mixture of music that eases the mind, soothes the soul and even shakes the stress.
G-Spot ‘De gal dem sweet spot’ (Sandy Point)
DJs Six A Clack and Shaggy, who have been turning tables at this venue every Friday, will continue to do so tonight with their ‘Feel Good Fridays’ theme.
La Pinta Boat Ride
Desire a sea bonanza? Then board La Pinta…‘The Party Boat’.
Party in double-decker style and be entertained by DJ Sweet Sister Sensia, Unstoppable Sounds and DJ Cool in the reggae and dancehall mix. The Grand Masters Band will also be performing and tickets are available at BCA on Central Street. Partygoers can also pay their entrance fee at the Ferry terminal from where ‘The Party Boat’ departs.
Saturday (Nov. 5)
Chambalay (Sandy Point)
The Sandy Point SPIRIT group presents ‘The Return of Chambalay’ with three exciting events.
The first one will be held at the town’s Recreation Ground from 8:00 a.m. with the SPAFA Grassroots Football Exhibition. This will be followed by the Chambalay Iron Band parading through the streets of Sandy Point.
The parade is scheduled to start at sundown from the Recreation Ground and will end at the Hard Court, where a Guinness Ball Challenge will bring the curtains down on the day’s activities.
The Pumpkin
He calls himself the ‘Man from Mars’. He blazed the trail with ‘Dancehall Instructions’ and told the ladies to ‘Dutty Wine’. Yes, indeed, the popular energetic Jamaican DJ Tony Matterhorn did all that. Tomorrow he will continue his instructions at The Pumpkin from 9:00 p.m. and will share the spotlight with the Nu Vybz Band International.
Mr. X Shiggidy Shack (Frigate Bay Strip)
X marks the spot this Saturday at Mr. X Shiggidy Shack, where this beach bar, in collaboration with WINN FM, will be hosting an event dubbed ‘Guy Fawkes Day X-travaganza’. Also, the Shiggidy Shack’s Winnjammers J’Ouvert troupe - ‘The Buccaneers J’Ouvert Troupe’ will be launched beneath the evening sky.
You can enjoy a tasty Caribbean meal while listening to pulsating music from Untitled, Royalties Band and Small Axe as they sizzle your Saturday Night. The event starts at 6:00 p.m.
Sunday (Nov. 6)
The Sandy Point SPIRIT - Experience a series of traditional games and sports spanning the backyards of Sandy Point at the first ever Cart Part Olympics in the Alley. This activity will conclude the Sandy Point SPIRIT’s three-event on Sunday, beginning at 12 noon.
Pump Bay Beach Bash
This Bash is a product of Bill A Vybez Entertainment and is presented every Sunday in Pump Bay, Sandy Point. Music will be provided by DJ Six A Clack and MixKlusive Sounds. The event, which kicks off at 2:00 p.m., will also feature a Swimsuit Competition.
