No injury sustained in Wellington Road traffic accident

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THANKFULLY, two men involved in a mid-morning traffic accident today (Nov. 4) escaped uninjured.

At about 10:20 a.m., Eugen Bedford of Old Road, owner and operator of motor pick-up PA6228, and Talbert Charles of Nevis, owner and operator of motor jeep PA7574, were travelling eastward along Wellington Road with Bedford in front of Charles.

While both vehicles were near the entrance of the Water Department compound, a collision occurred between the two.

Both parties agreed that an accident did take place; however, a number of variations were given by both men in their recollection of the happenings of the moments leading to the incident.

Bedford told SKNVibes that he had indicated he was going to make a right turn into the Water Department compound, while Charles at the same time was making an attempt to overtake. The effort at overtaking was unsuccessful and Bedford was hit from behind by Charles.

Charles however explained that Bedford did not indicate his intention and the collision occurred while he was attempting to overtake.

The impact thrust PA6228 into the Water Department compound and PA7574 landed on its right side near the entrance to the compound.

Officers of the Traffic Department were summoned and they conducted investigations into the accident.

Charles and Bedford were the sole occupants of the vehicles and neither sustained injures.
