St.Kitts Team begins training

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 1st 2011 - The St.Kitts National Team began their two week long practice and training programme leading up to their match-up against Dominica, on Monday evening.

     

    13 of the selected 15 man squad showed up for the teams first practice at Basketball City with Coach Dave “Doc” Sutton.

     

    According to team official the practice went exceptionally well and the players  are all eager to play the Dominican National team which features the 7’-2” former NBA and European Professional player  Garth Joseph.

     

    The St.Kitts Senior mens team were also joined in training by the Female National Team who themselves are in training for the upcoming  regional tournament in Antigua the annual Gillian Brazier Womens Invitational.

     

    The team has been participating in the tournament for most of the last 10 years and has placed no lower than 3rd place .

     

    The Senior Mens team  continue their preparations during the rest of the week and into next week where they are expected to engage 2 local teams in practice match-ups.

     

    According to sources close to the management body of St.Kitts Basketball , SKABA , the team will be kept together as much as possible after the Dominican team tour and a return trip to Dominica will be pursued in addition to engaging other national teams in an effort to prepare the team for what is hoped will be an exciting year for the national team with the possibility of a revived LIBA tournament as well as participation in CBC.

     

    The St.Kitts team will play Dominica on Sunday 13th November at Basketball City. On Saturday night of the same weekend the St.Kitts Team will play Nevis All Star team in a friendly match-up at Basketball City.
