The member chefs of the Charter Yacht Society of the British Virgin Islands have compiled some of the finest recipes from their galleys for you to prepare in your kitchens.
Featured recipes in Dining on Deckinclude such tasty creations as Watermelon-Mango Gazpacho Coolers with Fresh Caribbean Lobster, Pistachio-Crusted Pork Tenderloin with Carrot Mango Reduction & Sweet Potato Rosti, and Rum Fudge Chocolate Pie.
In the introduction to Dining on Deck, Charter Yacht Society Executive Director Janet Oliver writes, “This is not just any cookbook; it is your porthole to the vacation of a lifetime…By all means, go ahead and try the recipes, but when you do, be sure to close your eyes and imagine yourself nestled at anchor somewhere among Nature’s Little Secrets, the British Virgin Islands.”
The Charter Yacht Society (CYS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 by independent owners of crewed yachts in the BVI. The society represents the organized voice of individual yachts and their crew. The members of the Charter Yacht Society of the British Virgin Island provide private cruising vacations to guests from around the world.
Its member crews are from a wide variety of backgrounds, both professionally and culturally. Crewed chartering is often a second way of life and many members have unusual recipes to share and stories to tell.
The book launch will take place at the 30th Annual BVI Chartered Yacht Show at Village Cay Marina on Tuesday, November 8 at 6:30pm. Copies of the book will be available for sale, and some chefs will be on hand to sign their recipes.
