BRADES, Montserrat, November 9th, 2011 – Montserrat will be hosting its second Diaspora Consultation this December, the Office of the Premier announced this week.

“Identity Montserratian” is this year’s theme of the two-day event slated for December 21 and 22. Chairman of the Diaspora Consultation Hon. David Osborne said the intent is to capture the voices of the many nationals who return to the island for festival celebrations.

Some of the scheduled sessions include Engaging the Diaspora in Montserrat’s Future, Stimulating and Entrepreneurial Spirit and the Financial Implications for Residents in the Diaspora on Pensions, Taxes, and Investments.

The Government of Montserrat hosted its first Diaspora Consultation in June 2010 as a way to encourage more involvement in the development in the island from persons living abroad.

The consultation will be held at the Montserrat Cultural Centre. Interested persons should contact the Office of the Premier for more information and to register to attend.
