23rd Commencement Ceremony Of The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 7th, 2011 – Under the patronage of the Governor General, Sir Cuthbert Sebastian, the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) will be honouring over 200 students for their commitment to hard work and achievement at the Institution.
     
     On November 22nd, 2011 at 5p.m. on the main campus, Burdon Street, family, friends and members of the general public will all share in a moment of pride as graduands complete another phase in their academic journey.  Under the theme, 'embracing opportunities to develop human capital for a competitive global environment, ' the 23rd Commencement Ceremony will have as its keynote speaker, Ms Andrea Bussue, Education Officer on Nevis. 

     

    An accomplished educator and motivator, Ms Bussue will give words of inspiration and advice to the students as they step into the next chapter of their lives. Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr  Frank Mills, will subsequently present graduands with their individual certificates.
     
     Organising the event is a commencement steering committee, comprising of staff and faculty of the College.  The committee is this year chaired by Mrs Delores Stapleton-Harris. Speaking on the goal of the team, she stated,  “ our aim is to produce a commencement ceremony that meets the expectations of the graduands and one that is reflective of the excellence that CFBC stands for”.
     
     The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College serves the needs of a wide cross-section of the post-secondary and adult population. It seeks to respond positively to the needs of its student body and is committed to the development of responsible citizens who are ready to contribute to the development of their country.

     

    The college was established in 1988, under the name College of Further Education and was mandated to consolidate and augment the opportunities for tertiary level education. Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College came into existence with the amalgamation of four previously existing institutions: the School of Nursing inaugurated in 1966; the Teacher's College established in 1967; the Technical College organized in 1971; and the Sixth Form.
