Press Release

CHARLESTOWN Nevis, November 9th 2011 - Visionary local entrepreneur and pageant enthusiast Mr. Randy Jeffers is doing it again; he is bringing fashion, talent, glamour, culture and a taste of National Carnival to Nevis.

Jeffers the owner of the franchise Ms. Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant and the host of Sugar Mas - Oualie Experience will be hosting for a second consecutive time ‘Sugar Mas comes to Nevis.” “Come December 4th Nevisians will get a chance to enjoy good entertainment, fashion and excitement at its best with beautiful scenery,” Jeffers promised.

A one of its kind event was held in Nevis in the form of a Fashion Show on December 11th 2010 at the Cultural Complex, and it formed part of the pre-Carnival activities that kicked off in Dec. 6 and ended on Dec. 16.

Jeffers has announced that this year will be no exception but with added taste of class and a new addition.

Jeffers has disclosed that this year’s Sugar Mas Comes to Nevis will not only feature a first class Carnival Queen Fashion Show but it will also feature a Calypso tent and an interview segment with the Queen Contestants.

The Calypso tent will feature some of the best acts in calypso like the reigning Carnival Calypso King Pungwa, the reigning Culturama Kaiso Monarch King Hollywood, Iyatola and many more. The six beautiful contestants from Sugar City St. Kitts will also be thrilling the audience as they show off their toned physiques which they have been working on for weeks and will strut their stuff on the runway modeling unique creations of top regional and local designers.

Another major highlight of the event Jeffers disclosed will be the launching of the Ms. Teen Hospitality Pageant contestants and a chance for the Nevisian public to see what some of Jouvert’ and last lap costumes will look like. Special appearances will also be made by the reigning Miss National Carnival, Miss Crival and Miss Jaysees Caribbean Queen Iantavian Queeley, Miss Culture Nevis Santonya Mills, Mr. Cool Nadaski Percival, Miss Culture Swim Wear Sidamo Jones, Miss Caribbean World Sudeaka Francis and a special appearance also by the reigning Ms. Caribbean Culture Queen Oneka Mckoy from St. Lucia.

According to Jeffers Sugar Mas Comes to Nevis is being staged to bridge the gap that exists between St. Kitts and Nevis in relation to National Carnival. He explained that National Carnival is meant to be a St. Kitts and Nevis event and not St. Kitts alone as the Federation is considered as one.

He noted further that presently Nevisians don’t get to participate in the National Carnival as they ought to and he is hoping that through Sugar Mas Comes to Nevis, National Carnival will receive more exposure and participation from the Nevisian audience.

The grand event which will cater to some 500 guests will be held on the 4th of December 2011 at Lime Bar on Pinney’s Beach and show is expected to kick off at 4pm. Jeffers hopes that the show which has received much publicity and interest will turn out to be a big and successful event.
