Third cruise ship for the week docks at Port Zante

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 8th 2011 (CUOPM) – The third cruise ship to visit St. Kitts for this week, docked at Port Zante on Tuesday.
     
    The 540-passenger capacity Silver Spirit on the first of five calls for the 2011/2012 cruise ship arrived from Dominica with 505 passengers and a crew of 363. Most of the passengers disembarked before the Silver Spirit left for St. Barth’s, its next port of call.
     
    On Monday, just over 4,000 cruise passengers visited on two ships. The 2,680-passenger capacity Carnival Miracle arrived from St. Lucia with 2,179 passengers and a crew of 943 before sailing for Miami. The 2,450-passenger capacity Celebrity Summit arrived from St. Croix with 2,062 passengers and a crew of 923 before departing for the Commonwealth of Dominica.
     
    The 3,597-passenger capacity Azura docks on Wednesday; the 2,224-passenger capacity Norwegian Dawn and the 2,556-passenger capacity Arcadia berth on Thursday 10th.
     
    The three cruise ships scheduled for this coming Friday 11th November are the 3,050-passenger capacity Carnival Victory; the 1,627-passenger capacity Maasdam and the 2,850-passenger capacity Celebrity Silhouette, which will be making its inaugural call, the first of six for the 2011/2012 cruise ship season.
     
    Rounding out the week on Saturday 12th will be the 3,100-passenger-capacity Ventura which docks at Port Zante and the 112-passneger capacity Sea Dream which anchors in Charlestown.
     
    Last week, some 10,739 cruise passengers visited St. Kitts from five ships.
     
    Some 84,000 cruise passengers are expected this month from 38 cruise ship calls.
     
    An estimated 625,000 passengers are expected between October 2011 and September 2012.
