CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – TWO men appeared Monday before Her Ladyship Justice Ianthea Leigertwood-Octave for allegedly stealing jewellery worth EC$31 000 from Idona Browne in Paradise Estate on September 19, 2007.

Wilson Jones and Leo Roland Herbert both pleaded not guilty to house breaking and larceny charges as well as receiving stolen goods.

The two men are accused of stealing four gold pendants valued at EC$1 100, seven pairs of gold bracelets valued at EC$6 100, seven gold rings valued at EC$2 000, 14 pairs of gold earings valued at EC$6 300, 18 gold chains valued at EC$8 300, seven silver chains valued at EC$4 400, two silver pendants valued at EC$1 000, three pairs of silver rings valued at EC$700, two silver rings valued at EC$300 and four silver bracelets valued at EC$1 600. ~~Adz:Right~~

Justice Leigertwood-Octave told the two accused that the Deputy Public Prosecutor would look for a suitable date for their case to be heard in order to give Herbert time to get a lawyer.

Herbert said he had contacted a lawyer but was unable to notify the attorney about his court appearance because he was only served with the summons last Thursday.

Their bail conditions and terms will be reviewed by the High Court.
