~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AS strange as it may sound, it is actually against the laws of the land for a male to be found in “unlawful possession” of female unmentionables.

According to a police press release issued yesterday, Kevin Kelly of St.Pauls was arrested and charged on Monday, April 7, 2008 with “unlawful possession of panties”; an offence which they claim was committed on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

Seeking insight into what may have been the circumstances leading to the arrest, SKNVibes contacted Head of the Police Press and Public Relations Office, Inspector Cromwell Henry who informed that Kelly was searched by officers during a routine stop and search operation and was found carrying a bag of panties. SKNVibes understands that Kelly was unable to provide a reasonable explanation for his possession of the items and was taken into custody.

He is expected to appear before the court shortly to answer the charge.

Meanwhile, a number of other persons were on Monday arrested and charged with offences which they are believed to have committed.

A Saddlers man was charged with a March 22, 2008 offence of “incest”.

“Wounding” was the offence with which Selwyn Gonzales of Mount Lily Village, Nevis was arrested and charged, and George Douglas of St. Pauls was arrested and charged with a November 3, 2007 offence of “wounding”.

“All persons will appear in court shortly,” the press release informs.
