BASSETERRE, St. Kitts –THE blues of Monday morning may fade as the memories of an entertaining and exciting weekend which still linger on many minds rise to the surface.

The Warner Park Stadium experienced an enormous turnout on Friday evening when an exciting and seat-edging football game was played.  Canada battled St. Kitts-Nevis in the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) qualifier.

However, this much anticipated game resulted in a draw.

To celebrate the well-fought game, the Nu Vybes Band International entertained patrons at the football stadium until about 10 p.m. on Friday night.

On that same eventful Friday evening, the event dubbed ‘Judgement Time: an Egyptian Thrill’ had a satisfactory turnout as the reigning Carnival Queen: Iantavian Queeley hosted the Egyptian styled gala at Fire House Grill formerly known as Morgan Heights Restaurant.

On Saturday evening, after a 2 year lapse, the Miss Big and Beautiful Queen Pageant came back with a more exciting and thrilling show.

Joycelyn Stapleton captured the Miss Big and Beautiful 2011/2012 title, while Nikesha Hazel captured the First Runner-up position followed by Simone Hanley who placed as Second Runner-up.

On Sunday evening eighteen calypsonians captivated the audience with their hilarious and creative compositions at the Legends Calypso tent at Sprat Net in Old Road with MC Sandra ‘Sexy B’ Byron in charge.

Hot Rod, who seemed to be the highlight of this festive event, excited the crowd with his famous song, ‘Pung de ginger’ as he exhibited his ginger-pounding skills on a lady who was very amused with his song and actions.

The crowd sang and laughed in accordance with the suggestive tunes from the calypsonians that many described as being ‘well-put together.’

Songs such as ‘Mmmhmm’ by Singing Jenny…spoke about issues that may be happening in the country about which many decided to remain silent and were only prepared to say ‘mmmmhmmm’ .

Queen Anastasia with her song, ‘Ah feel it’ spoke about actions executed by the government that made many ‘feel it’.

Other crowd pleasing performances were  by Sha Angel, Lord Pain, Dwighty, Mighty Jay, Franky Sly, Willy, Lord Felix, Phonsy, Ace, DH, King Sacrotes, Calypso Craig, I&I, Neglector and Lady Diva who is a first timer in the calypso arena.
