Arcadia and Norwegian Dawn visit Thursday with 4,300 passengers

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 11th 2011 (CUOPM) - The parade of cruise ships to St. Kitts’ Port Zante continued Thursday with the visit of two ships carrying over 4,300 passengers, bringing to 12,000 the number of cruise visitors for this week.

     

    The 2,556-passenger capacity Arcadia arrived from St. Maarten with 1,948 passengers onboard and a crew of 883 before leaving for St. Lucia.

     

    Midday saw the arrival of the 2,224-passenger Norwegian Dawn from Barbados with 2,423 cruise passengers and a crew of 1081 before departing for Miami.

     

    The 4,371 passengers from the two ships brought the total number of passengers to 12,159 and crew of 3,599 for this week from six ships.

     

    Wednesday the 3,597-passenger Azura arrived from St. Maarten with 3,042 passengers and a crew of 1205.

     

    The 540-passenger capacity Silver Spirit visited on Tuesday and the 2,680-passenger capacity Carnival Miracle with 2,179 passengers and a crew of 943 and the 2,450-passenger capacity Celebrity Summit with 2,062 passengers and a crew of 923.

     

    Two ships are scheduled for this coming Friday 11th November with the visit of the 3,050-passenger capacity Carnival Victory and the inaugural call of the 2,850-passenger capacity Celebrity Silhouette.

     

    Rounding out the week on Saturday 12th will be the 3,100-passenger-capacity Ventura which docks at Port Zante and the 112-passneger capacity Sea Dream which anchors in Charlestown.

     

    Last week, some 10,739 cruise passengers visited St. Kitts from five ships.

     

    Some 84,000 cruise passengers are expected this month from 38 cruise ship calls.

     

    An estimated 625,000 passengers are expected between October 2011 and September 2012.
