BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A male resident of Stapleton Village is currently on bail after appearing before a city magistrate on Monday (Nov. 14) charged three offences, including unlawful possession of a cot suspected to belong to the local Defence Force.
Charged with cultivation of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and unlawful possession of a cot, is Imbookeeal Bryan who was arrested by members of the Delta Squad on Friday (Nov. 11).
SKNVibes learned that on Friday evening, a number of operations were launched in Stapleton Village by the Delta Squad and officers from the Stapleton Police Station in search of guns, ammunition and controlled drugs.
The officers executed a search warrant shortly after 7:00 p.m. on the home of Bryan and found a number of marijuana plants growing in his backyard and a quantity of the controlled drug within his house.
Also found in his home was a cot, suspected to have originated from the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force.
He was arrested and taken into custody at the Stapleton Police Station and later moved to the Basseterre Police Station.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Stafford Liburd, Bryan had made his first appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court on Monday (Nov. 14) and had his conditional release set at EC$5 000.
This media house learned that a large crowd from within that community had gathered during the search of Bryan’s home, and many of them had commended the members of the Delta Squad for the results they have achieved since its formation.
There were however some individuals who vociferously stated that they were not in support of the joint Police/Army law enforcement body.
