    DEAD: 20-year-old Gregory Anthony Zakers
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE seem to be making inroads with investigations into the brutal murder of 20-year-old Gregory Zakers with the arrest of two more individuals.

On Sunday, a juvenile from St. Pauls was arrested and charged “on suspicion” of murder and, over the last couple of days, a man from St. Pauls and another from Sandy Point were taken into police custody and subsequently arrested “on suspicion of murder”.

Information disseminated through a police press release said the man from Sandy Point was arrested after a number of items were found in his vehicle.

A search warrant was executed on Monday by police “for controlled drugs, arms and ammunition and items used in the commission of a crime.”

Although nothing was found there to satisfy the warrant, “a motor car owned by the occupier of the premises was seized by police and searched”.  As a result of the search, a number of items were taken from the vehicle, taken into police custody as well as the owner of the vehicle.

While no details were given with the arrest of the other individual, the police have indicated that he is 22 years of age and was arrested “on suspicion” on Tuesday.

Although arrested, none of the tree men have been charged and, according to police, they are “assisting with the investigation” into Zakers’ murder.  ~~Adz:Right~~

On Saturday morning, Zakers’ body was discovered at Black Rocks, Belle Vue by a tourist who was visiting the area. The tourist reportedly informed a taxi driver of the find who in turn reported it to the police.

SKNVibes understands that Zakers’ half-dressed body showed signs of foul play as he reportedly had gunshot wounds to the head and back.  Zakers was found one day after he was reported missing by his relatives. He purportedly left his home in Basseterre on Thursday for St. Pauls to visit a female friend, but when he did not return, red flags were raised.

The 20-year-old, less than two months ago, was acquitted of the murder of 16-year-old Josh Smithen who was stabbed to death on September 8, 2006 during the opening ceremony of Festival De Capisterre.

Zakers along with Jamal Bradshaw and Fitzroy Challenger were jointly charged with the offence; however, the jury could not decide whether Bradshaw and Challenger were guilty or not.
