CHARLESTOWN Nevis, November 22nd 2011 – Another major annual international sporting event will be take root in Nevis come January 29, 2012, when Nevis will host its first Half Marathon.
Event SKN, a local entity that creates, organizes, promotes and hosts sporting events will present this new addition to the calendar of sport tourism events. The race is expected to attract the top distance runners in the region in its first year, and the goal is to grow it into one of the major half marathons in the Caribbean.
In addition to the half marathon distance of 13.1 miles, there will also be a 10-kilometer and a 5-kilometer distance being contested. The 5 and 10-kilometer distances will also be presented as walk events.
Part proceeds from the event will benefit the Over The Top Track Club and the Diabetes Association of St. Kitts & Nevis.
