ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, November 25th, 2011 -- “It has been amazing. The BVI is a beautiful place with warm and friendly people” – lead singer Matt Falloon.

Visiting London artists alternative soul band Smoke Feathers and reggae singer John Blood will wrap up a tour of the British Virgin Islands with two rousing full band performances this Friday and Sunday at Captain Mulligans and Big D’s at Josiah’s Bay Beach, respectively.

Smoke Feathers, popular for their rock, pop and reggae fusion and playing hard on stage, and John Blood known for effortlessly marrying calypso, reggae, dub, West African music and soul with lyrics of conscience and insight, take the stage tonight, November 25, from 8pm at Captain Mulligans.

Their last performance will be an all-day beach party at Big D’s at Josiah’s Bay, also on Tortola this Sunday, November 27, from midday.

“It has been amazing. The British Virgin Islands is a beautiful place with warm and friendly people. We have had such a great response so far and made plenty of new friends for life and now we have the final shows this week with the entire band. We are going to finish off the Liberation Tour in style” says lead singer Matt Falloon.
John Blood adds: “Everything has been brilliant so far.

The people have been so nice, really welcoming and warm. This weekend we are going to bring some good vibes, some loving vibes to the people of the British Virgin Islands. It’s going to be great.”

The November 19 – 27 Liberation promotional tour, organised by Jahphix Entertainment, Unity Krew and London-based Green Mango Media, included acoustic solo sets by Matt Falloon at Captain Mulligan’s, Nanny Cay, Tortola and Liverick Bay Resort and Marina in Virgin Gorda.

Singer/songwriter Matt Falloon teamed up with reggae instrumentalist John Blood for a Sailability charity gig at The Boat House Restaurant on November 23.

Smoke Feathers’ trip to the territory is to promote their studio album, also called Liberation, which will be released worldwide on British cult label Delta Creek Records in early 2012.

“The response has been overwhelming. When we heard Smoke Feathers perform in London we knew that their music will go down well here because people love good music and great performances and that is what you get from Smoke Feathers and John Blood.

Sunday is a brilliant day for friends and family to come out to Josiah’s Bay beach to listen to these great musicians. It is going to be a fun day at the beach, a perfect location for their last performance here in the BVI.”

Smoke Feathersenjoyed a great 12 months recording and gigging across the UK. The band performed a mammoth six times over three days at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival - wowing crowds at one of the world’s biggest arts festivals as they warmed up fans with songs off their upcoming album including Liberation Theology and Once Revolutionary for global superstars such as Beyonce, Coldplay and U2.

Championed passionately by top DJs on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio London, Smoke Feathers has toured the UK three times with Atlantic Records reggae star Natty, the ElectroAcoustic Club and the British Arts Council, established a dedicated following on the internet and across Europe, and have also had the privilege of supporting Bob Marley’s guitarist Junior Marvin, New Orleans psychedelic funk master Dr John and top 1970s American songwriter Don McLean.

Top London agency GreenGab and radio pluggers Hear This, companies who manage many of Britain’s greatest musical talents, handles the band’s public profile.

John Blood is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter and legend on the underground UK world music scene. He too has toured with UK reggae sensation Natty, collaborated with top musicians and poets from Brazil, France, the Caribbean and beyond and has just finished work on his latest EP, which features a tribute to Haiti and performances from some of London's finest percussionists.

Smoke Feathers and John Blood will also share a stage with UB40’s Ali Campbell on Saturday, November 26 at the National Parks Trust 50th Anniversary concert in the Queen Elizabeth Park, Road Town, Tortola.

Smoke Feather’s album Liberation will be launched across the Caribbean with official events in Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados in 2012.
