BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AT about 1.40 a.m. this morning November 28, 2011, an earthquake woke many from their sleep and caused those awake to pause in alarm.
However, according to http://earthquake.usgs.gov it had a magnitude of only 4.7 on the Richter scale.
Reports also came from St. Martin and Anguilla but as yet no confirmation has been received from the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA)
Surprisingly it was on November 29 four years ago (2007) that an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale, rocked St. Kitts and Nevis and the rest of the Eastern Caribbean, and as far south as Trinidad and Tobago.
SKNVIBES will bring further updates as they become available
So far reports of the occurrence of the earthquake have been confirmed in Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Netherlands Antilles and Puerto Rico.
So far there have been no reports of damage to property or injury to persons.
