    Search Operations

    ~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts: Searches conducted over the weekend led to the authorities recovering a number of illegal items and the arrests of a number of persons who are believed to have been involved in illegal activity.
     
    One of the two operations conducted on Nevis on Friday, April 18, 2008 was the “execution of a search warrant on premises at Newcastle…for illegal drugs, arms and ammunition”.
     
    Police have informed that four rounds of ammunition were found in a bedroom which was occupied by a 15-year-old. The juvenile was arrested and charged with “possession of ammunition”.
     
    During the second operation, a search warrant was executed on the premises of Rawlins Pasture resident, Rudolph Browne.  The executors of the warrant searched for illegal drugs, arms and ammunition and found “a quantity of marijuana” and resulted in Browne’s arrest and “possession of cannabis” charge.
     
    Meanwhile in St. Kitts, police received reports of a shooting incident which took place at Henry’s Night Spot, Cayon on Sunday and upon arrival officers conducted a search of the premises during which some 73 individuals were searched for “illegal drugs, arms and ammunition”.
     
    A 15-year-old from the Ogee Ghaut, St. Peter’s area was one of the individuals searched and was found to be in possession of a quantity of Cannabis and was subsequently charged accordingly.
     
    Further searches of the area yielded “a .380 pistol with a magazine of five rounds of ammunition in the back yard of the premises”.
     
    To date no-one has been held accountable for the find.
     
    In other news, Old Road resident, Charles Webster was arrested on Friday and charged with “building breaking and larceny”, an offence which police inform, was committed on April 13, 2008.
     
    Mervin ‘Gargomel’ Jeremy of Mc Knight was also arrested and charged this weekend with “wounding with intent” for an offence committed on February 26, 2008.
