~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AN autopsy performed on the remains on Tau Gowon, who was stabbed to death on Friday, last, revealed that he lost his life as a result of a punctured heart.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office issued a press release today (Wednesday) explaining that, according to Resident Pathologist Dr. Jesus De Brock, Gowon died of “hemopericardium” which is the “presence of blood or bloody effusion in the pericardial sac (a double-walled sac that contains the heart and the roots of the great vessels).

SKNVibes understands that this condition is usually manifested by “very sudden death”.

Gowon, the Federation’s eighth murder victim for the year, was somewhere at the junction of Market and Central Streets when an altercation reportedly developed between himself and a male. The said altercation led to him being stabbed in the chest.

SKNVibes has however not been able to ascertain how many times he was stabbed. When police officers arrived on the scene, they met Gowon lying on his back with a wound to the chest and the District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced him dead.

This media house understands that Gowon’s heart was punctured during the onslaught.

Less than 24 hours later, the man, believed to have delivered the fatal wound, went to the Basseterre Police Station in the company of his lawyer and turned himself in.  He has since been officially charged with Gowon’s murder.
