~~Adz:Right~~BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WHILE quantities of illegal substances were discovered by police during operations conducted on Monday and Tuesday, officers have arrested an individual in connection with one of the finds.

The first operation, conducted on Monday, took place in the St. Peters area where “a total of 120 marijuana plants were found growing on a plot of land at Cedar Grove”.  The vegetation, which ranged in height from seedlings to three feet, were deracinated and placed in police custody.  Accountability for that find has yet to be established.

During the second search at Crab Hill, Sandy Point, “two tubes containing 58 pieces of crack cocaine were found under a house”.  These too, were taken into police custody but no one has been made answerable for the find.

The final of the three operations also took place in Sandy Point and saw a number of individuals being stopped and searched for “illegal drugs, arms and ammunition”.  The police have indicated that during that exercise, a quantity of marijuana was found on Elroy Williams, a Crab Hill resident.

“As a result of the find, Elroy was arrested and charged with the offence of possession of cannabis,” police informed.
