Gunmen rob Bobsy’s Restaurant & Bar; co-owner shot at

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LYNNE HAWLEY, joint owner of Bobsy’s Restaurant & Bar in Frigate Bay, got the scare of her life when three bandits robbed the establishment of an undisclosed sum of money and fired a number of shots at her.

Speaking with SKNVibes, Michael ‘Bobsy’ Hawley said that at approximately 10:35 last night (Dec. 8) after his wife had closed the restaurant for business, three masked, armed individuals dressed in black entered the building by jumping over the balcony.

Hawley explained that the men demanded money from his wife, who immediately complied. However, as the thieves lingered in the building and in regard to her personal safety, his wife fled into a room and locked the door.

Seemingly, her action infuriated the bandits who retaliated by discharging three rounds from their firearms into the door.

Fortunately, according to Hawley, his wife was not hurt.

He noted that the police were notified of the incident after the bandits had fled scene.

Hawley was in high praise of the officers from the Frigate Bay Police Outpost, who he said “responded promptly and were very professional in their investigations”.
