Out of “Shawn City” gales the Wind of Change!!

Hon. Shawn Richards,Elected Representative of the People's Action Movement
Residents of Constituency #5, Sandy Point, came out in their numbers last night with one clear message of Change – Now is the Time!

Affectionately known as “Shawn City”, the people of Sandy Point confirmed the Hon. Shawn Richards as their choice for the upcoming General Election.

As the Parliamentarian for Constituency #5, the Hon. Shawn Richards was hailed for his years of diligent service under the People’s Action Movement (PAM). Priority to the concerns of the youth, as well as attentiveness to those in hospital were among the attributes highlighted in the Hon. Shawn Richards’ community involvement.

On the issues, Mr. Richards keenly raised concern to the plight of non-established workers, in addition to the large number of young people excluded under the Government’s present land scheme.

In closing, The Hon. Shawn Richards issued a call to the people of St Kitts and Nevis by the analogy of a sleeping tiger – That is, voter confirmation is essential to rouse Change for a new PAM government. ~~Adz:Right~~

By this Call to Change, Political Leader Mr. Lindsay Grant, assured that ex-sugar workers would finally receive the full entitlement and adequate support under a new PAM Government. Mr. Grant also offered poignant example in the deplorable working conditions of men and women in the St. Kitts and Nevis police force and its link to the surging crime rate in the Federation.

In conclusion, Mr. Grant informed listeners that after the two murders last Friday 18th April 2008, he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister to express the urgent need to convene a meeting with all stakeholders for a National Response on Crime. Mr. Grant indicated that PM Douglas had not yet responded to this letter dated April 22, 2008.

The next Public Meeting is scheduled to be held at the Village this coming Sunday 27th April at 8pm. Listen live @ http://www.pamdemocrat.org/party/
