    St. Kitts Attracts Much Attention

Joan Millard (Frigate Bay Resort) with Cheryl Carrington-Pitt (winner of a three night stay at the Resort)
    Bridgetown, Barbados, 26th April, 2008
    – Eager to learn and ready to share information on St. Kitts and Nevis, were consumers of the re-Discover the Caribbean Trade Show and
    nationals of St. Kitts-Nevis, respectively.

The re-Discover Show organisers created the opportunity to bring together the main entities in the travel market (consumers and
    destinations) to encourage regional tourism.

It was evident that Caribbean nationals are eager to travel to the islands in the region judging from the two hundred people who signed up to win one of five travel packages to St. Kitts.

In just three hours of the first day of the Show, representatives of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Unoma Allen and Melnecia Daniel, were bombarded with requests for information
about the island and desires to be entered into the draw.

To assist in the effort to educate the consumers and enter them into the competition were students from St. Kitts, studying at
the University of the West Indies, CaveHill Campus. They took time out from their exam preparations to lend a hand.

Last evening one winner was selected to redeem a three night stay at the Frigate Bay Resort. Cheryl Carrington-Pitt of Barbados has never been to the island and is looking forward to her trip.

Today the exhibition will be opened from 10am-7pm. The expectation is that the St. Kitts Booth will be visited by more potential travelers than yesterday.

    “It is a pleasure
being able to share information on the island with those who are genuinely interested and to tell them about the various events slated for June and July on the island.

    There is a great
opportunity to further develop regional tourism.

The Nevis Tourism Authority has partnered with us to provide a complimentary island Tour of Nevis and a meal for winners of the
raffle,” said Unoma Allen, Corporate Communications Manager.  She continued, “patrons are very eager to visit both St. Kitts and Nevis ”.

By the end of the today, four additional winners will be chosen to redeem the grand prize of a weekend for two at the Royal St. Kitts, complimentary tickets into the 12th annual St. Kitts Music Festival and drastically reduced airline fare on LIAT, to the island. St. Kitts Marriott Resort, Timothy Beach Hotel and Rawlin’s Plantation Inn have also donated accommodation.
