TDC re-launches Home & Building Depot

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – HOMEOWNERS and building contractors were the key beneficiaries at TDC Home and Building Depot re-launch yesterday [Saturday 26 April 2008].
Following a two-week long exercise that involved the International Marketing Development Officer and a contingent of three merchandisers from the US-based company “Do-It-Best Corporation”, headquartered in Indiana, the Home and Building Depot of TDC was transformed by leaps and bounds to the pleasure of the buying public, especially the elderly.
Quite noticeable were the size of the price tags at the head of each isle and the shelves and prices were placed higher so that they could be easily recognised from a distance.
The contingent from Do-It-Best Corporation of which TDC Home and Building Depot is a member assisted the TDC staff in the restructuring of shelving signage and the categorising of products.
Some staff members were also trained in merchandising and layout with a view of maximising floor space to their advantage and to reach even hard to sell customers.
Speaking to Dominic Matthew of Marketing and Public Relations, SKNVibes was informed that the re-launch was well received by the public and the numbers had actually increased yesterday by at least one third of what was expected for the normal Saturday buying traffic.
