Scores of women turn up at Inter-Denominational Rally

CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS - SCORES of women from St. Kitts and Nevis gathered at an Inter-Denominational Gospel Cruise and Rally held at the Nevis Cultural Centre on Saturday evening to mark Mt. Carmel Baptist Church’s Virtuous Women’s Group Fifth Anniversary.
It was a rare camaraderie as women recited poems, danced and sang uplifting choruses and shared experiences on how God had delivered them out of difficult circumstances.
The “Praise and Worship” session was held under the theme “In The Midst of the Storm”. A popular preacher, Pastor Jasmine Shelford, from Molineux, St. Kitts delivered what many women described as a refreshing message.
Pastor Shelford called on the women to hold on to their faith in God and to constantly search the scriptures to avoid deception by false prophets of the day. “There is silent frustration,” she said and assured the women that God was able to restore peace in the midst of their storms.
“Hold on to Jesus,” she said amidst cheers and applause, “if anybody has not been through a test, they will not have a testimony.”
According to the Virtuous Women’s Group President, Elizabeth Woodley, the rally was part of a series of activities the Group had organised to mark their fifth anniversary.
Churches that were represented at the rally were the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church, Bethesida Moravian, Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, Cayon COGOP, Christian Life Assembly, Covenant Outreach, End Time Harvest, Eastridge-Moravian Church, Evangelistic Faith Church, Key’s Moravian Church, Liberty New Testament, Pentecostal COG, People Evangelistic Centre, Way Truth and Life, Weslyan Holiness Church, World of Life NT COG, Calvary Baptist (Nevis), Combermere Methodist (Nevis), Church of God of Prophesy (Nevis), Church of Christ (Nevis), New Testament COG (Nevis), Wesleyan Holiness Church (Nevis) and Shiloh Baptist Church (Nevis).
