Kremour “Moy” Maloney a multi awarded winning bartender from Bath Village, Nevis, will compete with international bartenders at the Global Cocktail Challenge scheduled to be held in Trinidad on May 13th, 2008.

Moy will compete alongside bartenders from other Caribbean islands as well as from England, Australia and USA.

“I am confident. I know I will do it again,” confident Moy said in an interview in his office at the Oualie Beach Resort. During the competition, bartenders will have to present two cocktails, (2 glasses each-one for the judges, one for photography) within eight minutes.

Both cocktail recipes must include at least five dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters, must be easily reproduced worldwide for a cocktail menu and extra points can be earned if more than five dashes of Angostura and aromatic bitters is used. ~~Adz:Right~~

The second cocktail is to be made freestyle and must have at least five dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters in it.  The cocktail will be judged using the following criteria: must show versality/mixability of Angostura aromatic bitters, must be easily reproduced worldwide for a cocktail menu  and like the first cocktail extra points will be earned if more than five dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters is used.

All ingredients will be supplied by the Angostura including Angostura aromatic bitters.

Moy is optimistic that he will make Oualie Beach Resort and Nevis stand out.  He has been bartending for the last four years at the popular Oualie Beach Resort until recently.  He started out his career as an accomplished bartender. He was nominated Nevis Bartender of the Year in 2005 to 2006.

Moy’s bartending skills and achievements has dear payoff.  He is currently the new assistant food and beverage manager at the Oualie Beach Resort.  He oversees the training of bartenders and staff and most important, the creation of all the company’s speciality drinks.
