BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Lodge Estate man was this week remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison for stabbing a youth on Wednesday night (Dec. 21).
Details of the incident are sketchy. However, Officer-in-Charge of the Criminal Investigations Department Inspector Charles Smithen told this publication that Steadroy ‘Chalkie’ Scott was formerly arrested and charged for stabbing the young man.
Smithen said the incident took place at about 9:00 p.m. on the Bay Road in the vicinity of KFC.
He noted that Scott allegedly seriously injured the youth with a sharp object and that the victim is in a stable condition convalescing at the JNF General Hospital.
Smithen also noted that Scott was taken before a City Magistrate who remanded him to prison until his trial in the New Year.
