    – The new Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Rong-chuan Wu, is attributing the success to date of the new St. Kitts and Nevis economy to the “wise leadership” of Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

Ambassador Rong-chuan Wu, who paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Douglas on Wednesday afternoon gave the assurance of his government’s continued development assistance and promised to explore new areas of mutual cooperation.

“We have to continue to develop good policies and good projects and I am going to assure you that we will explore new areas,” said Ambassador Wu, who added that he agreed with Prime Minister Douglas that St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan are experiencing critical periods.

“St. Kitts and Nevis is in a transitional period and I think every country has to face difficult challenges,” said Ambassador Wu, who noted that he first visited St. Kitts and Nevis some nine years ago when he was the Charge d’ Affaires in the Commonwealth of Dominica where he had also met Prime Minister Douglas.

“After nine years, I have experienced the tremendous change, from the people to the general appearance and the economic establishment. So I also want to attribute this success to your wise leadership,” said Ambassador. ~~Adz:Right~~

He said that Prime Minister Douglas “is quite famous in my country and in Taipei, everybody knows that you are from St. Kitts and Nevis and most of our people appreciate your constant support, especially during this kind of challenge and as we are facing more and more difficult situations.”

Ambassador Wu said that the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no choice but to fight and promote its relations and explore new opportunities and possibilities.

He noted that his predecessor His Excellency John Liu has served with distinction and has during his tenure “tremendously improved the relationship between St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan.”

“I want to assure you that I will do my best. All the cooperation projects must be implemented with the full consultation of your esteemed government,” said Ambassador Wu.
