Newtown man remanded on ammo charge

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – UDELL HENRY of John Street, Newtown was today (Jan. 4) remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison charged with possession of ammunition.

     

    According to Assistant Commissioner Ian Queeley, who has the responsibility for Crime, on Thursday (Dec. 29), members of the Delta Squad had executed a search warrant on Henry’s premises for firearms, ammunition and drugs.

     

    He noted that during the search a quantity of .22 rounds of ammunition was found in Henry’s yard and he was arrested and held in custody at the Basseterre Police Station.

     

    The 19-year-old was subsequently charged on Saturday (Dec. 31) and had appeared today at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court and was remanded to prison until his date of trial.
