Cable & Wireless Supports Green Valley Festival; confirms sandbox platinum sponsorship with the handing over of cheque

Chair of the Marketing Committee, Mr.. Clifford Griffin accepts sponsorship cheque from sponsor representative, Laverne Caines
    Basseterre; St. Kitts
    - At a media conference called to announce the plans for Green Valley Festival 2008, Cable & Wireless handed over its sponsorship cheque last Wednesday afternoon. This is the second consecutive year that Cable & Wireless has supported the festival at the platinum level, the funds from which sponsorship is to be disbursed to the troupe organizers.

“We have confidence in this product called Green Valley Festival, and that is the reason why we have come back for a second year to lend financial support for its success,” said Mrs Laverne Caines, V P Marketing and Corporate Communications at Cable & Wireless, before handing over the funds to the Marketing Chair, Mr. Clifford Griffin.

She urged the Green Valley executive to ensure that the festival maintains its inclusiveness, so that a wide cross section of the Green Valley community can benefit from the sponsorship.

“The standard that we have seen at Green Valley is one that we would like to encourage across all festivals in St. Kitts & Nevis. You are really the festivals trend setters, and we hope that other community festivals would take a page from your book,” she encouraged the organizers.

Members of the executive committee gave high praises to Cable & Wireless for re-committing its support at a time when they reported that sponsorship was particularly difficult to come by.  The challenge of acquiring sposorship notwithstanding, the committee announced a full slate of activities to run over the next two weeks, with the highlights of the Calypso and Queen Shows expecting to be the crowd favourites.

Cable & Wireless is expected to set up commercial outlets on the grounds of the festival from which a number of on site promotions will run over the Whitsun weekend. As the public looks forward to supporting this year’s activities, Cable & Wireless extends wishes for an incident-free and exciting experience.
