BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE mistakes of others and the corresponding penalties seemed not enough to dissuade a Half Way Tree resident from engaging in illegal activities. His decision to engage in such activities has however afforded him an extended stay at Her Majesty’s Prison.

The man, Ingle Boone, appeared before the District “B” Magistrate’s Court on two counts of “possession of a controlled substance” to wit cannabis and “possession of ammunition”, offences said to have been committed on Thursday, April 3, 2008.

According to a police press release, the charges were preferred against Boone following a search operation.

“On Thursday 3rd April 2008 police executed a search warrant on the premises of Doreen Rodriguez and Ingle Boone of Half Way Tree for controlled drugs, arms, ammunition and stolen goods.  ~~Adz:Right~~

Three plastic bags containing marijuana, one round of ammunition and three camouflage suits were found in Mr. Boon’s bedroom. Mr. Boon along with the items were taken into Police custody. He was subsequently charged for possession of cannabis and possession of ammunition.”

Boone was convicted on all counts. He was sentenced to one month imprisonment each on the first two while a five-year sentence was ordered on the last count.
