BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN an effort to further support and contribute towards Breast Cancer research, today (Jan. 12), EC$1 000 was handed over to the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support Group (RRBCSG) by RAMS Trading.

The handing over was done at the RAMS Bird Rock location by the company's Health and Beauty Brand Manager, Shirley Julius, to the President of RRBCSG, Agnes Farrell.

During the handover, Julius explained the reason behind it. She said that during the month of October 2011, which is the month for which Breast Cancer Awareness is eminent, SevenSeas and RAMS had launched a SevenSeas Think Pink promotion.

"October was Breast Cancer Awareness month and SevenSeas and RAMS came on board and decided to do a promotion called the SevenSeas Think Pink promotion. We promoted one of the SevenSeas One-a-day with Omega3 and each unit that was sold we donated US$0.60 to fund Breast Cancer research in the Caribbean," she explained.

Julius explained that after the decision was made to do the promotion, RAMS approached Farrell who was asked to endorse the product and then became the spokesperson for marketing both the product and the promotion.

Farrell, upon receiving the cheque, elucidated that the money would be put towards helping a number of persons who are currently in need of assistance for Breast Cancer treatment.

"We have a number of persons who are in need of help. One person in particular, after a few years of being cancer free, has returned and so we will now be able to give her some much needed assistance to deal with this very difficult situation she is going through," she said.

Thanking RAMS, Farrell said, "The Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support Group would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude towards the management of RAMS and to the SevenSeas organisation. Thanks for choosing us and you can be assured that this donation would be put towards a very worthy cause."

Julius said that RAMS tries to support causes such as these in any way that they could, as they are one of the entities that loves to give back wherever necessary.
