KINGSTON Jamaica, January 13th, 2012 -- Reggae’s best loved crooner, Beres Hammond will headline a concert for street boys scheduled for Sunday, January 17 at Waves Beach, Portmore, St Catherine.

In The Streets Togetherness, as the event is themed, will see artistes giving of their time free of cost to assist a group of street boys who have become an extended family to the entertainment community.

As Colin Levy of Kings of Kings explained, “We as artistes believe in teaching a man to fish and having met with two of these street boys as they are called, they were invited to the studio and soon they became a fixture, always eager to learn and to help. They proved to be honesy and hardworking, so we decided to assist them without it being a handout.”

According to headliner, Beres Hammond, “This is one event I certainly could not say no to. Giving back is an essential part of life, no matter where on the ladder you stand. If I can extend a helping hand – whether to the youth or to the elderly – I am honoured to do so. I feel it is my duty and on Sunday at the beach it will be all about ‘feel good’,” Hammond said with a smile as he quoted a line from his 2009 blockbuster, Feel Good.

Other artistes on the line-up, including George Nooks, Kip Rich and Spice, also shared Beres’ sentiments for the show which is being staged by Street Scholar Promotions in association with Fire and Blue. Not only is Spice performing, but her uptown boutique, Spicey Couture is a sponsor of the event.

Other as who will give their best at the beach on Sunday are the Doctor Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Toya, Ras Bogle, Empress Tashai and Ultimate, with intense juggling from Rebel T and Stone Love. In the Streets Togetherness is endorsed by Kings of Kings and will be hosted by Ragashanti.
