At the official opening ceremony held today May 13,2008, PAM Political Leader Mr. Lindsay Grant commended the innovative vision to establish the University of Medical and Health Sciences (UMHS) in St Kitts and Nevis.
In a letter of appreciation written to Dr. Robert Ross, Chairman of the UMHS Board, Mr. Grant stated:
" Over this period, St. Kitts and Nevis has come to know your dedication to excellence...the People's Action Movement remains confident that the UMHS standard will continue to address the need for qualified medical professionals."
The letter continues:
"As we join you to welcome the first class of UMHS students to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, I again extend my congratulations and best wishes for continued success in this latest accomplishment."
In conclusion, Mr. Grant expressed the view that UMHS will continue to foster longstanding relationships established in the Federation.
