BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A juvenile is among four men recently charged with criminal offences committed over a three-week period.

According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer Sergeant Stephen Hector, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Inspector Charles Smithen, reported that charges of house breaking and larceny were presented to Jahida Elvis Williams, a.k.a. Jah, of Conaree Village.

The offences, he said, were committed at the home of Curtis Matthew, also of Conaree Village, on Saturday, January 11, 2012.

Also charged with house breaking and larceny is a juvenile from Conaree Village.

Sergeant Hector reported that the two offences were also committed on Saturday, January 11, 2012, but he did not disclose the location.

The PRO informed that Sergeant Travis Rogers of the Drug Unit had reported that during a routine patrol yesterday (Feb. 1), 16 marijuana plants were uprooted from an empty plot of land in Shadwell.

He noted that no one was held accountable for the find but investigations are ongoing.

Also, Cecil Charles of Lower Monkey Hill and Rodell Clarke of Stapleton Village were arrested and jointly charged with possession of cannabis; an act they allegedly committed on Sunday (Jan. 29) in Lower Monkey Hill.

And on the traffic side of the law, Yashwant Survase of Golf View, Frigate Bay was arrested for driving motorcar PA7192 when he is not a holder of a valid St. Kitts-Nevis driver’s licence and driving when not covered with insurance.

The offence reportedly occurred yesterday at about 12:00 p.m. at Port Zante.
