BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WHETHER they are preparing for IAAF World Indoors or getting ready for 2012 World Olympics, our athletes are winning on the world stage.

Kim Collins has formidable successors in the persons of Antoine Adams and Brijesh Lawrence, who partnered him to win bronze at the 400 m relay World Championships in Daegu, South Korea in August/September 2011.

At the Botnia Games of February 2012 in Vaasa, Finland, which feature the champions in European Athletics, our own Antoine Adams won two gold medals.

In the 60 m he won in a time of 6.68 seconds more than 1/10th of a second ahead of second place finisher Visa Hongisto who finished with 6.79 seconds. Here are the results as published:

As if to prove to them that this was no flash in the pan, he followed up by convincingly winning gold again in the 150 m.

Meanwhile Brijesh ‘BJ’ Lawrence also achieved GOLD in the Wichita State Invitational over the weekend.

He won the 60m in 6.73 and placed 2nd in the 200m in 21.82! The results speak for themselves:

And as if that were not enough, SKNAAA reports that Tameka Williams also won the 60m finals at The Tempere Indoors in Finland. She is said to have run a personal best time of 7.37 seconds.

Meanwhile Kim Collins who ran his season’s best (6.65 s) in the 60m Heats in the Russian Winter Games sustained an injury in the Finals and placed 5th with a time of 7.71 secs

But fortunately his Dutch agent, Caroline Feith gave some reassurance to his fans.

"Nothing major, he has had this before that his hip gets really tied. He will be fine for the next (meet) which is Dusseldorf."

SKNVibes again joins with SKNAAA in wishing Kim a speedy recovery and proudly applauds our outstanding athletes for their amazing performances.
