NEMO to spearhead workshop on Emergency Response

    KINGSTOWN St.Vincent February  07th, 2012  -- The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) will be spearheading a two day Emergency Response Workshop for the Agricultural component of the CARICOM Brazil Cooperation Programme here.

     

    The workshop will begin today at the Methodist Church Hall in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency CDEMA.

     

    Several remarks will be delivered by various speakers at the opening ceremony at nine in the morning.

     

    They include Executive Director of CDEMA Jeremy Collymore; Acting Director of NEMO Michelle Forbes and Consultant Dr. Balfour Spence.

     

    The specific objectives of the workshop is to compile a menu of agricultural good practices utilized in the beneficiary country and other CDEMA participating states to mitigate impact of hydro- meteorological hazards, including hurricanes, floods, landslides and droughts.

     

    The sessions will be facilitated by Consultant Dr. Balfour Spence.
