KINGSTOWN St.Vincent, February 07th,  2012 -- Vincentians are being urged to avoid harmful behavior and practices, which may lead to the development of different types of cancer.

The advice came from Chief Medical Officer Dr St Clair Thomas, as this country joined the world to observe World Cancer Day on Saturday.

Dr Thomas said early detection of certain cancers can lead to control or cure of the disease. Dr Thomas also urged persons who are affected by cancer, to access treatment wherever it is available.
