Helping Hands and Beyond helps Adventist Primary School

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, February 10th 2012 - The St. Kitts Seventh-day Adventist Primary School received one laptop, two desktops and a musical keyboard from the Helping Hands and Beyond organization of Pennsylvania on February 7, 2012.

     

    Through the efforts and coordination of Former school board member, Mrs. Hazel Riley, the donation was made with the intention of extending a helping hand to the primary school students through technological education. The Helping Hands and Beyond organization obtained the donated items with the help of the Haitian American Nurses Association and Mike One Travel.

     

    A brief handing over ceremony was held at the school where over twenty representatives from the organizationwere present. Principal of the St. Kitts Seventh-day Adventist Primary School, Mrs. Yvette Blanchette, received the donations on behalf of the school.

     

    Mrs. Blanchette publically registered the gratitude of the school’s staff, students and board upon receiving the items.

     

    “The administration and entire student body of the school are jointly and deeply appreciative of this thoughtful gesture in the donation of these technological instruments, especially in this information age. These modern gadgets will ensure that we continue to deliver quality education with cutting edge relevance to students in particular and the nation in general.”

     

    Mrs. Blanchette additionally stated that the Primary School is committed to maximizing the benefits of the tangible, meaningful donations.

     

    School Education Officer, Mrs. Urlene Bloice-Roberts, Chairperson of the Seventh-day Adventist Primary School board, Pastor Kay White, Chairman of the Island Coordinating Council, Pastor Sherwin White, teachers, students and media representatives were present at the ceremony.

     

    After the handing over ceremony, members of the Helping Hands and Beyond organization spoke to the students in small groups on health related issues and played outdoor games with the younger students.

     

    Helping Hands and Beyond is a nonprofit humanitarian organization established and dedicated to educate and promote wellness, by encouraging and stimulating healing and recovery.
